Principal's Welcome Letter

                                    Mrs.Michelle Osborne-Warren

September, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians of Connecticut Farms School,

Greetings and Welcome back to School! For our new parents I want to say thank you for being a part of the Connecticut Farms Family. The staff and I are really excited for the beginning of the school year and meeting both our returning and new students. One of the great joys of being a school administrator is that each year, I have the opportunity to meet new families and to be part of your family, in this journey of education.  When thinking about our duty and responsibility, I am reminded of our school vision statement, which is as follows:

At Connecticut Farms School, our goal is...

to build students’ knowledge, skills, and values so that they are productive citizens and meet their fullest potential.

This vision statement is truer today than ever before. Our children need the tools to ensure that the world they live in today will be better tomorrow. To build the framework for a better tomorrow requires us to know that we can never give up or give in. Here at Connecticut Farms School we teach students to have a Growth Mindset, meaning just because you can’t see or solve something this very moment, doesn’t mean you will never be able to do it. To look to the future requires us to know that although we don’t have the answers today, it doesn’t mean we won’t have the answers in the future, it just means “Not Yet”.

Our theme this year is: Relationships Matter. I want us to remember that we first build relationships with our family and then with others. When relationships are built they foster love, trust, and a sense of belonging. This year, I want us to truly build relationships that are strong and that last the test of time. I want you, parents, to feel that you are our school family and that we are working together for all of our students.

Please find a copy of our School Handbook and our Patriot Pride Handbook. Both have a wealth of information to support you for the school year. Please send the acknowledgement form from the School Handbook back to school with your child.

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 6th. You will meet us outside on the playground. There will be signage for you to find your child’s teacher near the exits that were mentioned in the letter you received about your child’s teacher. The first day is a half-day and school will end at 1:00 pm. Lunch will not be served so please send a healthy snack.

** This year, breakfast and lunch will not be free. The cost is $2.25 for breakfast and $3.15 for lunch. If you would like a school lunch, you will be required to pay. In the near future, the lunch applications will be available for you to fill out. More information will follow.

We are going to have a great year and I am looking forward to meeting you in the next few days.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Michelle C. Osborne-Warren
